Abstract
The present edition brings to the day light twenty unpublished letters of the Wallachian Prince Constantin Brâncoveanu and four of a scholar and diplomat Constantin stolnicul (high steward) Cantacuzino from the Polish archives sent between 1709 and 1714. The addressee of all letters was the Polish Great Crown Hetman Adam Mikołaj Sieniawski.
The published correspondence brings a lot of details about the situation of the Swedish King, Charles XII of Sweden in Bender, his Polish adherents with the Voivode of Kiev Józef Potocki and Ukrainian Cossacks with Iwan Mazepa as leaders.
Moreover, some valuable information about the general situation in the Ottoman Empire and the Crimean Khanate can be found in nearly all letters. They are proof of vivid relations between the Danubian principalities and the Polish – Lithuanian Commonwealth after the Treaty of Karlowitz.
SCRISORI INEDITE DIN ARHIVELE POLONEZE ALE DOMNITORULUI CONSTANTIN BRÂNCOVEANU ŞI ALE STOLNICULUI CONSTANTIN CANTACUZINO
Rezumat
Articolul de faţă aduce la lumină douăzeci de scrisori nepublicate ale domnitorului Constantin Brâncoveanu şi patru scrisori ale eruditului şi diplomatului stolnic Constantin Cantacuzino, păstrate în arhivele poloneze. Toate scrisorile au fost scrise în intervalul 1709 – 1714 şi adresate Marelui Hatman al Coroanei, Adam Mikołaj Sieniawski.
Corespondenţa publicată conţine multe detalii referitoare la situaţia Regelui Carol al XII-lea al Suediei, aflat la Bender, la adepţii săi polonezi, în frunte cu Voievodul Kievului, Józef Potocki, şi la cazacii ucraineni conduşi de Ivan Mazepa.
În plus, pot fi găsite infomaţii valoroase despre situaţia generală din Imperiul Otoman şi Hanatul Crimeei în aproape toate scrisorile. Aceste scrisori sunt dovada unor relaţii dinamice între Principatele Dunărene şi Uniunea polono-lituaniană, după Tratatul de la Karlowitz.
