THE RELATIONS BETWEEN THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF BESSARABIA AND THE RELIGIOUS MINORITIES IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE 19TH CENTURY

Abstract
Although the subject stated in the title is an important one, so far it has only been tangentially reflected in historiography. However, apart the administrative, economic or cultural changes which occurred upon Bessarabia’s annexation to the Russian Empire, a series of changes took place concerning the religious composition of the region and even the evolution of the spiritual life of the indigenous Romanian population. Based on a series of historiographic and archive materials, the author means to look into the relations which were created between the natives of the Prut-Dniester area, most of them Orthodox, and the communities which represented minority communions, especially the ones from the Russian imperial space, many of them unknown to the inter-river region until the beginning of the 19th century, as well as of the impact on the Bessarabian population.
RAPORTURILE DINTRE POPULAŢIA AUTOHTONĂ A BASARABIEI ŞI MINORITĂŢILE CONFESIONALE ÎN PRIMA JUMĂTATE A SECOLULUI AL XIX-LEA
Rezumat
Cu toate că subiectul enunţat în titlul articolului este unul important, până la momentul de faţă această problemă a fost tangenţial reflectată în istoriografie. Or, pe lângă schimbările de ordin administrativ, economic sau cultural odată cu anexarea Basarabiei la Imperiului Rus s-au produs şi o serie de schimbări şi în ceea ce a însemnat componenţa religioasă a regiunii şi chiar în mersul vieţii spirituale a populaţiei româneşti autohtone. Bazându-se pe o serie de materiale istoriografice şi de arhivă, autorul şi-a propus o analiză a raporturilor ce s-au constituit între localnicii din spaţiul pruto-nistrean, majoritar ortodocşi, şi comunităţile ce reprezentau alte confesiuni minoritare, îndeosebi cele venite din spaţiul imperial rus, multe din acestea necunoscute interfluviului până la începutul secolului al XIX-lea, precum şi a impactului, dacă respectivul a existat, asupra populaţiei basarabene.
