Abstract
The article brings some contributions to the existing researches in the field of the cultural history of Galaţi, providing some new information regarding the major cultural and artistic events that took place between 1878 and 1900, as they were recorded by the media of those days.

Articolul reprezintă o contribuţie la cercetările anterioare din domeniul istoriei culturale a oraşului Galaţi, aducând un supliment de informaţii referitoare la principalele evenimente cultural artistice ce au avut loc în perioada 1878 -1900, aşa cum au fost ele reflectate în presa vremii.
