Abstract
The preventive archaeological research campaign carried out in 2022-2023, in the Negrilesti-Schoolyard site, topographic sector B4-B5, was initiated by the Negrilesti City Hall, which requested the archaeological investigations on an area of 200 sqm, located 100m-160m from the school, in order to build a metal fence surrounding the new kindergarten.
The research was undertaken by opening six excavation units, SG19, SG19A, SG20, SG21, SG21A and SG22. The opening of these areas allowed the discovery of 55 living complexes (household pits, supply pits, dwellings, fire installations), dating from the Bronze Age to the modern era, as well as of 15 tombs from the pre-medieval and medieval periods.
