Abstract

The archaeological researches from the Roman fortress from Tirighina-Bărboşi revealed the existence in the area of some foreign populations which came to the Lower Danube as soldiers in the Roman army. They brought with them their specific religious practices and objects. The article deals with two religious objects, of foreign origin, discovered at Bărboşi.
The first one is a medal depicting the Egyptian god Nile, in a personified representation. The second object is also a medal, depicting the Greek-Roman divinity Dionysos (Bacchus).
