Autorul adaugă câteva noi pagini la substanţiala şi erudita sa monografie dedicată oraşului Galaţi, pagini cuprinzând un studiu cu privire la istoria spitalelor din Galaţi (organizarea şi activitatea lor, medicii), în perioada modernă (de la mijlocul sec. XIX până la 1918).
