Abstract
The preventive archaeological research done at Adam Monastery, Drăguşeni commune, Galati district, has revealed the annex constructions (the cells) of the old monastery, which had functioned until the middle of the XX-th century, sewage pits, graves and foundation walls pertaining to an older church, probably the first church built of brick and stone at Adam, during the XXVII-th century.
We hope that further archaeological researches will disclose the entire religious complex, consisting of the annex constructions of the monastery, the old church, as well as the necropolis situated to the South of the old church, where, so far, only four graves have been disclosed.
