Abstract
The Ukrainian political emigration in Europe has occurred following the failure of the national liberation revolutions of 1917-1921. Tens of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians fled from the path of the Bolsheviks and created political centres in several European states, including Romania. Based on unknown archive sources from Ukraine, the Russian Federation, the Czech Republic and Romania, the present study regards the activity of the Branch of the Ukrainian Association attached to the League of Nations, which operated on the territory of Romania.
The paper follows the process of setting up, organizing and managing the organization of Ukrainian emigrants, which was based on the former soldiers of the Ukrainian People’s Republic Army, admitted in several Romanian centres. It especially analyses, the activity of the branch, both externally and in the cultural and educational field.
